Michael's skillset is on policy analysis with a focus on the intersection between social justice, environmental protection, and sustainable development. This passion was formed as a result of his upbringing in Tanzania, South Africa, Kenya, Vietnam, and Mozambique. The influence of these diverse socio-cultural contexts, alongside their correlating governmental nuances, led Michael to further his studies to better understand these dynamics.

Michael views the intersection of sustainability, social justice, and environmental protection as interwoven and central to any successful, long-term developmental approach. With this in mind, he strives to create policy and research through an ethical and intersectional lens, giving space to all stakeholders to ensure that co-creation is a core component of development initiatives.

Through professional experience and internships at various human rights organisations, he has observed a continued need for sustainable developmental frameworks that value long-term approaches. At EXCEPT, Michael aims to contribute to community-driven sustainable development with special attention to gender rights and long-term viability.
